Excalibur

It reminds me of the story of how the Lady of the Lake bestowed Excalibur upon Merlin. This picture seems to suggest that the character is actually standing in a dry lake or river bed, given that there is a bridge and some very flat ground. So, this seems to be sometime in the future, far after Arthur was given the sword, but still in the same place; and now the sword is being offered to another soul.
